Needle Exchange Service/Safer Injecting Service
The aim of this service is to reduce harm in those people who choose to continue to inject drugs.  This is a high risk behaviour. The service includes the distribution of injecting materials to hundreds of clients through community pharmacists.  The extension of this service is also available in Harbour premises, as is advice on minimising risk relating to injecting technique and blood borne viruses.  Workers can refer people to Hepatitis and HIV services if required.
Access to service by self-referral.
